Hi all,

I am a writer for the Science Careers website and I'm looking for some input about how chemistry companies interview and hire scientists. C&E News had a story about this topic (http://cen.acs.org/articles/92/i44/Inte ... ights.html) in which they really emphasize the importance of soft skills like communication and socializing. Do you agree that these skills have become an important part of the hiring process for scientific companies, and/or do you think they should?

I would love to hear from hiring managers and scientists who have recently been through the interview process. You're welcome to respond here on the forum, and I also encourage you to contact me directly at rbernste@aaas.org for more in-depth discussion.

Thanks,
Rachel
