Finding my career path

After completing a BS in Biology 3 years ago from a top rated institution, I found my interests in science somewhat burnt out and I switched gears and earned a master\'s degree in Technology & Communications (In brief I studied the political, social and economic applications and impacts of developing technologies). After a year and half of working for an Internet company I find myself desperately wanting to get back to the sciences, but am not sure what my options are. What career paths are out there that might allow me to incorporate my two degrees?

You'll need to look at the actual work experience you had at the internet company, and see where that may benefit you in the world of the sciences. On the surface, there is nothing that I can think of which combines the two degrees you've mentioned. Perhaps working for a supplier of science products, such as Fisher Scientific, Promega, Invitrogen, etc, and working in their e-Commerce sections?

What is there that you are desparately hoping to get back to in the field of science? If you have a research career in mind, remember that most companies would put you (as a BS) into a Research Associate level job, where you wouldn't get independent research work but where you could be exposed to bench work.

Think about what it is that you love about science, and what it is that you "burnt out" on, and find those jobs that fit between them. The MS Degree could be valuable in some circumstances -- but just exactly what those are may depend more upon your actual work experience.
