Hi,
I completed my doctoral training in protein crystallography recently and am now in a postdoc position, also in protein crystallography. I have extensive experience in protein purification, membrane proteins, crystallization robotics, synchrotron x-ray beamline usage, etc.
Can you direct me to headhunting agencies that may be appropriate for my search for an industrial position as a protein/macromolecular crystallographer?
Thanks.
D.

Hello,

In the future, would you please use a name and not a "chat" abbreviation, thanks.

Headhunters are not appropriate contacts for people coming out of their graduate programs, and generally for postdocs either. They are involved in locating people with industry experience. While you may certainly contact some of the industry leaders and inquire, don't waste a lot of time in this process. It is very easy to think that someone is out there finding a job for you, when in reality, you've got to do it yourself. You could get lulled into wasting 4-5 months this way, very easily.

Try reaching someone at Search Masters International, Executive BioSearch, Tringali Associates, CJ Resources, etc. BUT -- please, do yourself a favor, and plan your own job search, using these contacts only as icing on the cake. I will not "plug" my own company here.
