What about a deskjob after PhD?

I am a senior PhD candidate in Immunobiology and should be able to graduate by another 18 months. I have lost interest in academics, I also hate doing experiments now a days. But, I still like reading papers, design experiments and think critically. After I graduate, I want to do a deskjob where I am not directly responsible to do any research but I'd like to read and write. Is there any hope? I will be grateful to receive suggestions!

Um..well you kinda answered your own question....scientific/medical writing seems like a path for to explore.

Start with 3rd Party Medical Communications Service Providers. Job title: Medical Writer.

Good luck.

Too add to what's already been suggested, maybe a job in science policy, or a patent examiner (though when I looked up the requirements for this in the UK before, they didn't seem to accept a bioscience background).
