Working for the Dept of Natural Resources and State Parks

I have an internship offer working with Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources and Maryland State Parks. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions/advice when looking to work with DNR. Does Maryland DNR have a good reputation? Or more broadly, is working for State DNR a good place to work? Pros/cons? Same questions for working with State Parks?

I had an awesome internship last year where I worked for National Park Service- so I feel like I've been spoiled. How does working for State Parks compare to NPS?

Your question is certainly a reasonable one, but this may not be the best forum for you to ask it. Most of us are not near enough to Maryland to be able to say anything about them, and most of us are focused more on basic research than on anything to do with parks and recreation.

One thing to consider is that if you've worked for the National Park Service, you may have been 'spoiled' by your access to resources. Working for a state agency might therefore give you some practice in being more 'creative' in how you accomplish your objectives.
