Clinical Research

I would like to apply for clinical research jobs but do not have work experience in this field. I do have a M.S in molecular and cell biology and 3 yrs. of experience at a core facility. I don\'t know how to get noticed while lacking the experience. Could I volunteer at labs that conduct clinical research? Is there anything else I can do to get noticed by employers?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sophia,

Hospitals do the clinical research. I am not certain what kind of work you are looking for . . . perhaps in a testing laboratory that does support work for clinical trials?

Regardless, one way to approach this is to get with the temporary staffing firms that service the clinical field. Some of those offer training classes, which helps you look more marketable. In others, companies can try you first and see if they like you, and then hire you full time if you work out. Any way you do it, the exposure to some clinical work will be good on your CV for future employment in the field.

The companies I am thinking about are firms like Kelly Scientific Clinical Division, Statprobe Onsite, and ClinForce. You'll find one of these in your area.

Good luck!
