School of Pharmacy Out, Now What?

I have been focused on getting into a School of Pharmacy since graduating high school. I am completing my 3rd semester of college with the pre-pharmacy curriculum. My grades are good (3.3 GPA), my PCAT score is 75, but does not look sufficient to make it into a school of pharmacy based on the intense competition. What is a good field to pursue with the biology and chemistry classes I have already completed at this point. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Pharmacology seems like an obvious choice. My undergrad degree was Pharmacology and many of the classes were the same ones that the Pharmacy students took. There may even be an chance to switch over once you get your foot in the door.

Pharmacology is also a good subject because it is generally a good subject for moving into industry or, as I did, staying in academia. Also, although I am now in the immunology field, the pharmacological approach to experimental design, statistics etc. can be important skills for a career in science.

Good luck mate,

Paul
