Hello,

I'm a writing up PhD, only two publications are published in not very important journals. Right now, I am applying for the jobs in the US, BTW, I'm studying in the UK, but the coming news made me feel blue, I got only few replies, no matter how close my field is close to theirs, so I am wondering, for the first post-doctoral position, whether publications are crucial or some other things I need to improve or because I am not in the US? Thanks for your help.

Is this the end of the story?

Get your PhD supervisor to introduce you to a potential postdoc sponsor in the US.

Or, visit a major conference in your field and ask big name profs for a postdoc.

There are no other major ways to receive a postdoc in the US.

Val
