Why are some posts deleted?

It doesn't hurt to restate now and again the reasons why certain posts are deleted.

It is our intent to present a forum which is totally open and free to all to post their questions or comments about careers in science and/or the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industries. However, on occasion, there are posts removed for reasons that include the following:

- Posts about non-career issues, such as "How do I culture CHO Cells?" or "How do we get President Bush to care about improving environmental conservation?"

- Posts that are commercial in nature, such as "Visit our job site" or "Buy this book."

- Posts that are off track from our mission, such as "I am looking for a job. My background is blah, blah, blah. Please hire me." These often include pasted CV's or publications lists.

- Posts using language such as "ur" or chat room names such as Supertech and AngelLady.

- Posts which are nasty or mean, seemingly to induce "flames" from other posters.

To date we've had only one person who can't get this message, and that person's material is often very good, but the posts are lost due to the language used. Thank you to all who have helped make this forum a success,
