I am a doctoral student in cancer research looking for a teaching postdoc. But I was also wondering if there are any career opportunities in just curriculum design and developing instructional materials for undergrad/graduate level classes. I am particularly interested in being part of a team that just designs interactive multimedia learning modules for the biological sciences. However, I have limited computer skills and would love to function as the "scientist" on a team and develop content for these learning modules. Do such jobs exist? It seems most projects involve a specific academic need and then faculty just develop one using existing IT support at that institution. Are there companies out there that just do consulting and employ scientists to help develop content for software?
