If any of you is interested in getting out of the "rut" that is your graduate student, postdoc, or other career, read the following article about "What's Keeping You From Changing Careers". (I don't think the author is related to our moderator... is she?) Certainly read the end section about the three steps one should take to change careers.

Sometimes it's politics or unethical managers that holds people back within organizations.

Organizations where people are happy to stay and know that the opportunities for lateral moves are possible.
