second postdoc in industry

Postby Doris » Sun Apr 17, 2005 11:24 am

I finished my PhD a bit more than 2 years ago, then I kind of stayed in the same field for a Postdoc, but doing more on cell biology as compared to immunology when I was a PhD student. I still have not decided to work in industry or stay in the academic, I wonder whether it is a good idea to do a second postdoc in industry.
I don't have supergood publication records,
first author papers: 3 (Journal of Immunology and Molecular Microbiology ranking), 1 in preparation (also similar ranking)
non-first author papers: 5 (also similar rankings)
If it is as a matter of fact more difficult to publish in industry, will there be big problem in switching back to academic with my not very excellent publication track?
Please advice, thanks in advance.
