Seminar on "Faculty Tracks" in Bay Area

Postby Bill L. & Naledi S. » Thu Jul 14, 2005 12:46 pm

Hi All -- The thread about "Research Asst Professor" has been an interesting one. At many large research universities there's a frustrating array of "after postdoc" career options available.

So, for any "Forum-ites" in the Bay Area interested in this topic, you're welcome to attend UCSF's Preparing Future Faculty July 28 seminar on the issue of "Faculty Tracks". The Univ. of CA academic job titles will be used as a model (Specialist, Adjunct, Researcher, In-Residence, T-T etc etc) but as we've heard on this Forum there are similarities between the various university systems, so anyone on the academic track should be able to get some helpful advice in this session.

While I'm at it, there's a Preparing Future Faculty series on Academic Job Hunting coming up in August. Forum folks are welcome to that attend that series too.

All PFF sessions are in Genentech Hall Auditorium.
