Industry Postdoc (What are they looking for)

Postby Jerry1 » Tue Feb 14, 2006 10:34 am

For an industry postdoc, do companies generally favor PhDs with actual experience (with respect to technical skill set) in the specific field or do they view it as training period to use your general skills/training for mutual growth (or both, depends)? I would say either postdoc is compatible in academia. Maybe industry wants their postdocs to require less additional training per se but rather get on more directly with investigations and results, etc? Of course, these 2 descriptions of postdocs are not strictly mutually exclusive. Thanks.
