Looking for nice BIO-investors

\"Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Internet search company Google Inc., has launched a $10 million investment program to back for-profit companies developing innovative technologies and services around plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Typically, Google.org would invest between $500,000 and $2 million in companies from around the world working on technologies in those sectors and will take an equity stake for its investment.\" VentureWireAlert

Are there any known examples of semi-philanthropic, friendly and cute investors in BIO sector as opposed to typical VC hm.. brutes?
