Become a toxicologist?

Postby Vickie » Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:36 am

People often seem interested in what's hot (career-wise) and what's not, so here's a little info on that subject.

The Society of Toxicology annual meeting is going on this week. Without me. I'm sure I'll be missed. :-)

But, SOT runs a nice job placement service at the meeting and the online postings are available to all members, so I thought I'd pass along what I've observed.

Most of the big pharmaceutical companies seem to be hiring, as are a few biotechs and other industries. There are a couple of nice post-docs listed and also a smattering of government jobs (EPA, FDA, ATSDR). All in all I think things are a bit brighter than I would have anticipated.
