From what I've read on the forum, Professional Science Master's programs are not generally viewed as a good path to getting that coveted first industry scientist position for a Ph. D holders. As a Ph. D. student in a molecular biology lab, I was wondering whether taking several classes about the principles of product and process development, quality and compliance and GMP/GLP would give a significant boost to my eventual application for industry jobs. The certificate program costs several thousand dollars and I'm not sure how it's perceived by hiring directors/HR people in industry. How would taking the classes and then claiming familiarity with GMP/GLP and/or RA on a resume be perceived?
