On January 15th, I had a phone interview with a big biotech company for a technician type of position. I got the interview through a recruiter. The next day, my recruiter sent me an email saying that the company invited me for an in-person interview on January 25th (Friday).
The position was very similar to my previous position (I have been unemployed since early January) and on the phone, the person interviewing me said it was a good fit. The position is for a 6 month contract.
I emailed my recruiter after the in-person interview, and he said they should give him feedback the next week (the week of January 28th). My recruiter never got feedback the week after the interview, however. Last Wednesday, I even sent him an email and he said he’d follow up with them but he hasn’t emailed me back.
Does it seem like I won’t get the position? Do companies usually give the recruiter a response or at least some feedback the week after the interview?
Or is this considered normal? What is usually the timeline for situations like this? For my previous position (which was a temp position), I interviewed on a Friday, and the following Monday afternoon my recruiter told me they wanted to hire me. Does it usually move that fast for temp positions?
