Remote Networking

Postby M.Y.D. » Mon Mar 17, 2008 5:30 pm

I\'ve read enough on this forum to know that the way to land an industry job is through networking. And I have also read that there is a lot of advice about how to do so remotely. The problem is I can\'t seem to find it.

I am trying to find a job in a location that has a modest amount of industry. The problem is that I have exhausted all of my contacts through my friends, acquaintances and graduate school contacts. It is far from anywhere any of us have ever lived. So I need to begin to network cold from a remote location. Could you please give me some advice about how to go about it? I have a few companies that I am interested in, but no contacts there. Any advice?
