Asking tips for placement in the UK

Postby Milton » Fri Feb 08, 2013 9:11 am

I read this forum for a while and found some information for people who have been looking for placement but I still would like to ask some advice. Practical training is an obligatory part of my BSc studies of biochemistry and microbiology.

I am Finnish and searching a placement in
the UK for summer. So far I have been interested in the research groups of universities but do they have works in summer?

What should I expect for funding? Is it true that they definitely won´t pay salary, but demand funding from my home institute?

I have already studied in the UK but do I need to prove my English skills by official tests when applying or enquiring?

I am satisfied for any kind of tips, especially for recommendations.
