This is not a particularly appropriate question for this forum; however, since you are a first time poster, I will try to provide some guidance.

The first question that you need to answer is: "top 10 universities for what field of study and for what degree?" Once you answer this, you can start.

Assuming that you want this information to choose a place to study, I would suggest that you can first find out what universities are offering your field of interest and the degree that you want. For a graduate degree, look at who the faculty members in your field are, and what sort of publications they have had. One of them will likely be your mentor. For an undergraduate degree, look more at the general reputation of the school, but check out the faculty members and the courses that they teach. Talk to people who would know about which universities have the best reputations. Look at the forum posts on networking and informational interviewing, and adapt those skills to your search.
